They say that having a baby in the NICU is a roller coaster. Today was one of the troughs.
Mercy had a difficult 24 hours, oxygen levels and heart rate dropped throughout the night. She got a blood transfusion this afternoon which seemed to perk her up. Crazy fact: Mercy has just over an ounce of blood in her entire body. She also got a picc line this afternoon, much safer for long term IV treatment.
Erica went to the ER last night with a blood clot, and was re-admitted to Evanston Women’s Hospital early this morning. She ended up getting the same room, and she’s only one floor away from Mercy. She’s been able to hold Mercy for much of the past two days. Erica will be in the hospital for a couple of days as they monitor for returning preeclampsia.
Jonathan, Josh, Elijah, Orion and I are doing well. Erica’s parents Rick and Twinky are staying with us, harmonizing with Raffi as they help us finish getting the house ready for Mercy to come home, we have you all praying for us, bringing us meals and groceries, helping so many different ways.
Thanks for being with us.
