Mercy is healing well and her belly looks amazing. It's been a while since we've seen it this small and not distended.
The surgeons are looking at a long recovery, however. Three weeks before they re-introduce feeding, and potentially in the hospital until summer. Not what we wanted to hear today.

We visited Mercy this morning as a family. Way more normal than the first time the boys met her. The rest of the post has the pics. We are so thankful you all are in our lives. Merry Christmas and much love to you all!

Our very first family photo all together!

Lurie is such a fantastic place- the whole hospital is thoughtfully designed with kids in mind. The boys enjoyed the awesome fish tanks while we waited for visitor badges, and the Sky Cafe area was great for running around and admiring skyscrapers while we waited for visiting hours to begin.
Once it was time to finally be with Mercy, we stopped by the handwashing station before heading into her room. The big boys got to touch her for the very first time. They all were so tender with her.
Erica explained what all the tubes do for Mercy and the boys enjoyed exploring her room. They did an amazing job listening in during rounds too!
Elijah read her a book, and the boys loved talking with her and being able to see how much she has grown since so long ago when they first met her.

She woke up right before we left. Come home soon, baby girl!
Merry Christmas! You all have been in my prayers and that Mercy gets the best care possible. Hugs for all! Hi Elijah!

Merry Christmas! So glad to see you all together, and to see most of you in person the other day. Continued prayer for Mercy and all of you. Please let me know if you need anything, or if you need someone to keep you company in the hospital. Prayers for you all.
What a special Christmas for you all!! Hopefully next year it will be you all at home.
Merry Christmas! These pictures are so awesome. Thank you for updating us. ❤️
