Transfer Day!

Two pieces of good news over the past few days:
First, Mercy transferred to Lurie Children's this afternoon! We've been in administrative limbo since early last week as we waited for the transfer paperwork to make its way through the system. Lurie offers a few more specialties - such as intestinal rehab - that could help Mercy if needed. This transfer will allow the doctors at Lurie to get to know her before the need for those specialties becomes urgent. We're relieved that the paperwork went through and that she's finally settling in.

Super cool - Lurie provides a commemorative onesie with every neonatal transfer!
Second, Mercy's digestive system appears to be making incremental progress!! She's had a few bowel movements over the past four days. This gives us hope that there's a chance we're in the, "she is small and just needs time for her intestines to work" world rather than the, "there's a problem, hopefully we can somehow fix it" world. She's been on a motility drug and nominal feedings over the past week and a half and has responded well. Pray that she continues to thrive and her intestines keep up as doctors eventually increase feedings.
These two things - transfer and intestinal movement - are things that you all have been praying for and hoping with us. Erica and I are so, so thankful to be able to rejoice over answered prayers with you. We love you, friends!!
Ways to Pray:
We'll miss our amazing folks at Park Ridge - pray we build relationships quickly at Lurie
Pray Mercy's intestines continue to improve
Praise for the transfer!
Hooray!! She is looking positively plump in the picture!! Thanking God for these signs of progress and praying for more❤️❤️❤️
This is great news!❤️❤️
